The Rise.
Holiday's rise to fame/career peak.

Starting in the Harlem night scene at night clubs and bars, Holiday soon found herself selling out Carnegie Hall despite adversity faced along the way.
The Movement.
"Strange Fruit" sheds light on the senseless lynchings of African Americans.

Holiday showcases the horrors of this reality as bodies swinging become so common to the point of being comparable to fruit on a tree.

This led to the eventual downfall of her career with relentless efforts to defame her as she was seen as a threat.
However, Holiday knew the injustice she would face would all be worth for the mark left on future generations.
The Descent.
Despite selling out theaters and earning the title of one of the greatest jazz vocalists of all time, the constant witch hunt Holiday endured took away the final days she deserved.
At the time of her death, she essentially had no money left, a broken reputation, and a forgotten name.

With time, however, the truths of her life would soon come to light and be honored, with the legacy of "Strange Fruit" living on.
